Update Number 11

After listening to some of the comments made on the forums about my game, I have made quite a major change to the sewer section of level 5. The change involved changing the textures of the sewer tunnels and passageways, in order to look more like London's famous Victorian sewers.

Here are some screen shots showing the new textures.

Update Number 10

I've now finished level 5, the last level of Episode 1. Now I need to bring it all together to make a playable game with menus, huds etc.

Here are some pictures of the maintenance section of level 5;

Update Number 9

I've now complete levels 1 - 4 and I'm currently working on level 5 of Episode 1. Level 5 will be a maintenance/sewage area complete with sub levels.

This is the main area in the sewers.

This is the generator room, which also leads to the sewer entrance.

This is the stairway leading down from the generator room, to the sewer entrance.

Update Number 8

I have now very nearly finished building level 3, which is a military barracks level.

This is the canteen for the facility's guards

 This is the armoury with its own shooting range.

The next job is to finish off the lighting in the dormitary rooms, then finish off the food/drinks serving area of the canteen.

Update number 7

Levels 1 and 2 are now complete, apart from the custom characters, weapons, huds etc that I will be learning how to create at a later date.

For now, I am building the levels and getting them to a standard I am happy with. I am also putting in the important gameplay/puzzle elements. Combat will come later, as and when I build the custom media for the game.

I have taken some more screenshots of the latest bilds of the first two levels, here they are;

This is the outdoor scene of the first level. I have turned the ambient lighting down, to emphasise that this is a night time scene. I have also changed the layout somewhat, so that there isn't such an obvious drop off at the edge of the map.

This the outside of the front of the old mansion. I had to slightly adjust the position of the light markers for the lamps either side of the front door, so that they didn't show up the seams between the wall segments so much.

This is the inside of the old mansion, I am quite pleased with how this scene turned out. Cosmic prophet's dark city paintings help to finish the interior nicely.

This is the entrance to the lobby which leads to the underground facility. Again, cosmic prophet's paintings
 add a nice touch to it.

This is the top floor of the old mansion which also serves as the main office for the facility.

This is the main research facility. At the moment, I have left the lighting as it is, I'm not sure whether adding lighting would improve it or not.

This is the containment room, with one of the 'failed experiments' in it.

This is the first of the twin 'stasis labs', note the medical display screen in the background. This was custom made for me by a member of the TGC Forums which I have joined.

This is a close-up of the medical display screen, note the blue light markers showing on the ceiling, this is to represent the light from the display screen.

This is the holding area for the 'successful experiments'. Again, I haven't fully decided what to do with the lighting in this area.

Please note, that for some reason the screen capture software that I use always seems to take really dark pictures. In-game, the scenes are quite a bit brighter than these screenshots show.

FPS Creator Part 3

Here are some more updated screenshots of my WIP; 'Seclusion'

I changed the skybox to a night sky to make the sodium street lights look more natural. I also changed the perimeter wall.

This is another shot of the mansion.

I toned down the lighting in the main underground stairwell slightly.

This is the science lab that I have just finished placing entities and the lighting in.

There is a small surprise in here!

I have also toned down the lighting slightly in the detention block.
